2019 Update on Important Regulations

2019 is Here! MTE is Here with Great Options!

At Michigan Truck Sales & Equipment (MTE), we are here to provide exceptional sales and service on previously owned semi-trucks, trailers, and construction equipment. We also strive to keep up with the ever-changing dynamics of the trucking industry and share this valuable information with our customers.

Keeping Up with Regulations Making Changes

Let's review a few regulations that have already been set in motion as found on Fleet Trailer Company. These three regulations are still in the midst of changing the trucking industry.

  1. Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) - If you were exempt from the initial commencement of December 18, 2017, the next big date is December 17, 2019. Know that the mandated timeline shows 12.17.2019 is the "Full Compliance Phase" start date.
  2. Greenhouse House Standards - As of 2021, price increases are expected to be seen in the semi-trucks and trailers from the requirements needed to meet the new EPA standards
  3. New Driver Training Time Increase - "The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) proposed an increase to drive trucks." As found on TRUCKS.com, the new rule will not be effective until "February 7, 2020." Be sure you know if you are subject to FMCSA's safety regulations
