With 2018 almost at its halfway point, we have already experienced a few turning points in the trucking industry. We are no longer reading about the future and wondering what it will be like. It has become our reality, and it is important that we carefully consider everything and prepare for what else is ahead.

Over the past year, it seems all truck manufacturers have revealed a new truck or an upgraded truck. All of the new model trucks will not only be equipped with some of the latest technological equipment, but these trucks are being designed with technology that can last for the next 10 years or 15 years.

Fleets now have the option of buying or leasing trucks that can be upgraded. Upgradable trucks are the vehicles that will expand in efficiency as new technologies are made available. When new technologies are made available, the technology can be uploaded into the truck's computer system. 

The majority of trucking technology has been designed with truckers in mind. Everything from mobile apps to GPS tracking is available to create a human presence and to make your lives easier. Isn't that exactly what technology is supposed to do? Since the beginning of time, technology and tools have always been used to make our lives more efficient, more productive, and safer.

Things are moving mighty fast lately, and we believe the pace will pick up faster than we are expecting. It is great to know that industry suppliers are making sure they continue to include the "human touch" or "human element" in the products that are being placed in trucks are all over the world.

It is important that the new technology captures the interest of fleets and buyers. When technology is simple and easy to comprehend, everyone will want to learn how to use it. We believe that the next few years are going to be very interesting in terms of the technological changes in the trucking industry. As long as trucking technology continues to have the human element, we can expect some exciting things in the future.
